The 6th National Workshop on Early Intervention in Mental Retardation is being organised by Madhuram Narayanan Centre for Exceptional Children at the Pastoral Centre, Mylapore, Chennai-4 and is scheduled to be held on: Friday: 20th November, 2009 and Saturday: 21st November, 2009

The theme of the Workshop is on Early Intervention for Mental Retardation and Associated Disabilities.

A comprehensive approach to the theme is being planned with emphasis on :
Optimising the potential of the child with disability, through Individualised Special Education Programmes facilitated by Medical & Therapeutic Expertise.

The deliberations would emphasize on :
Prevention, Early Detection, Identification and Individualised Education Programme Plans towards Self Management in Activities of Daily Living and in Preparing the Child with Disability for Mainstream Education
