The 6th National Workshop on Early Intervention in Mental Retardation was organised by MNC the Pastoral Centre, Mylapore, Chennai 4 on: 20th and 21st November, 2009.

The theme of the Workshop was Early Intervention for Mental Retardation and Associated Disabilities, with emphasis on

optimising the potential of the child with disability
individualised special education programmes
facilitated by medical & therapeutic expertise.

The deliberations covered areas such as:
Prevention, Early Detection, Identification and Individualised Education Programme Plans towards Self Management in Activities of Daily Living and in Preparing the Child with Disability for Mainstream Education.
