Noting that Early Intervention is the need of the hour and that intervention is most effective when done early, MNC has been disseminating the programme to a number of institutions and teachers in the field of disability in this country. MNC has trained over 160 teachers/co-trainers from various institutions in this regard. MNC has been motivating and technically supporting a number of women's welfare organizations in the government, and in the public and the private sectors to establish centres in order to provide Early Intervention services.
The centre has conducted workshops on the Early Intervention Programme across the country for this purpose. MNC, with the support of UNICEF, conducted workshops in Calcutta, for representatives from West Bengal and the North Eastern States, and at Tirupati to cover Andhra Pradesh and trained over 50 core trainers from over 24 institutions. In the years 2001 and 2002 MNC conducted two workshops in Tamil Nadu (Ayakudi in Tirunelveli district and Kumbakonam in Tanjavur district) with the support of ActionAid India to train 50 core-trainers from nearly 30 institutions in the state.

MNC continues to assist these organisations with periodical evaluation and assessment of the children there. Apart from this, MNC has also conducted a number of workshops across the country for the dissemination of its Early Intervention programme “Upanayan”. The programme material has been translated into some of the regional languages such as Tamil, Hindi, Marathi and Malayalam based on regional demands. Translation into other languages are to be taken up shortly.
